In the heart of Aquitaine and the South-West of France, the
Baïse, a tributary of the Garonne, crosses the green
hillsides in the south of the Department of Lot-et-Garonne.
Well before the splendour of the Renaissance and the future
King Henry IV, the ancient villas, medieval market towns and
fortified towns moved as close as they could to the river,
always such a source of prosperity and pleasure. Today, sailing
for pleasure has replaced the old-style barges, offering a
trip through the historical, cultural and gastronomic heritage
of this Gascon paradise.
